Medi N Research, as a company promoting cosmeceutical business using exopolysaccharide (EPS) extracted from radiation-resistant microorganism Deinococcus radiodurans, has announced two types of EPS materials were successfully listed in International Cosmetic Ingredient Dictionary and Handbook (ICID) in March.
Exopolysaccharide (EPS) is a polymer secreted by microorganisms to the outside world and has a function of protecting microorganisms from external environmental stress, which cannot be synthesized because it has a complex structure different from plant extraction EPS, and is used as a high value-added material in cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries.
Medi N Research co-operated with Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute's Advanced Radiation Technology Institute to develop anti-aging and UV block products which remove UV or radiation-induced free radicals to help suppresses skin aging and regenerate skin by EPS extracted from Deinococcus radiodurans.
